TEDxLakeheadU
My inaugural TEDx talk.
On systems thinking.
On how systems fail us and how we unknowingly keep rebuilding the same ones.
This isn’t theory for me. It is a lived experience rooted in research.
My life’s research has been intrapreneurship, not as a buzzword, but as a way of seeing.
A way of questioning why things are done the way they are, and what happens when we stop accepting “this is how it’s always been.” This statement gives my body an allergic reaction.
I have been an #intrapreneur my whole life. Constantly noticing the gaps. Constantly asking what sits between the lines. Constantly trying to connect dots that others may not always see as connected.
Because that’s the real work of systems thinking.
Not just understanding the parts, but understanding the relationships between them.
The invisible rules.
The assumptions.
The behaviours that no one writes down, but everyone follows.
Our real human advantage is this: we can see what sits between the lines.
We can sense when a system is misaligned long before it breaks.
And we can choose to do something about it.
This talk is a reflection of that journey, where systems thinking, intrapreneurship, and lived experience all converge.
Not as separate ideas.
But as one continuous thread: how we work, how we lead, and how we reshape what no longer serves us.
